New Kingdom Buildings
For a cost, the Embassy automatically recruits heroes from distant lands into any open guild spots. If an Outpost is present, the Embassy may recruit any type of hero to fill empty slots in your existing guilds. Additionally, in multiplayer games the Embassy allows you to share your ally's view of the map.
The Hall of Champions has two primary functions. First, it keeps a list of all monsters killed at least once by your heroes. Second, you can then select any one type of creature from this list and place a bounty, similar to an attack flag, on all of its kind.

The Magic Bazaar sells six new magic items to your heroes and upgrades three levels in a similar manner to the Marketplace. For example, an Invisibility Brew is available along with an Elixir of Regeneration
The Mausoleum acts as a player-built graveyard for your heroes. It holds a certain number of slain heroes, which can be resurrected for a cost. If the building is destroyed, it releases a horde of undead.
The Outpost is an alternate command center to the Palace, though it is smaller and more vulnerable. If your Palace is destroyed, you can escape to a nearby Outpost and continue to rule from there. In some quests you only have the Outpost as the base of your operations. The Outpost also has room for homeless heroes to join, so they can continue to adventure instead of leaving the kingdom.
The Sorcerer's Abode provides you with six new player cast spells. If you have a second level Palace and a Magic Bazaar, the sorcerer can be paid to settle in your kingdom. The residence has a total of three levels, with two spells that can be researched at each level. The spells can be cast globally, but after each successful incantation the sorcerer needs to rest before he can cast another New Player Spells

Styx and Stones are a unique pair of undead Wights, a rather unholy couple. They are found in the epic quest Darkness Falls. They cast Recall and Reincarnation.
New Overlords

The Goblin Overlord is a big, highly intelligent Goblin who aids in concentrated attacks on buildings and protects Goblin settlements.

Greater Gorgons are extremely strong half-human serpentine creatures that travel with a retinue of Medusae. They cast spells to petrify their enemies and also cast enhancements on the Medusae. They cast Petrify, Summon Medusa and a Medusa Enchantment

Ratman Champions are the specially trained soldiers of the Ratman King, though they are also seen leading raiding parties. Big and tough, they have poisoned weapons and impressive armor.
New Support Monsters
Ice Dragons are flying creatures that dwell in glacial caves of ice and rock. Their freezing breath is horrible to behold, blasting its victims with immense power.

Ratapults are rickety siege engines built by the Ratmen. They launch Balefire, an explosive magical projectile that fires in a smoldering arc.

The Ratman Shaman makes bands of Ratmen particularly nasty. They cast Damage Shield on their brethren and Plague on their adversaries.

Shadow Beasts are nearly undetectable undead creatures that often serve as minions of Styx and Stones. They run swiftly and can claw through the strongest armor. When they engage in combat their speed is further increased by a magical haste ability.

The massive Yeti is one of the deadliest creatures of the Northlands, more powerful against heroes than even the massive Rock Golem. Their icy fists crush through plate armor like bare skin
New Monster Lairs

Ancient Graveyards are found in the wilderness and they spawn Ardania's full complement of undead creatures. Unlike such local establishments, heroes can destroy them As with the Sewer, the Broken Sewer Main appears automatically in your city, although it can be destroyed. It spews forth legions of Rats, Ratmen, Ratmen Shamans, Ratmen Champions, and the dangerous Ratapults.
The Goblin Fortress is a bigger and more durable Goblin encampment that automatically repairs itself. If attacked it disgorges a horde of defenders
Goblin Watchtowers target the enemies of the Goblins, shooting arrows like a Guardhouse. They add fortification to Goblin settlements.
The Ice Cave is a creature's den in the frozen northlands. It is one of the few places cold enough for a Yeti or Ice Dragon to inhabit.

The Rats Nest is a wilderness lair for the expanded Ratmen population. These filthy hovels spawn similar lairs in their own vicinity as the vermin population multiplies.
New Monster Spells Damage Shield: This is a buff that the Ratman Shaman can cast on his minions. Rats with a damage shield on will do damage against heroes that attack them. Horrify: Direct damage attack spell that damages all units directly in front of the caster. Medusa Enchantment: Medusae travelling with Greater Gorgons are given the ability to cast a Slow spell on their victims, reducing both movement speed and attack rate. Medusa Stare: Medusae that are enchanted can cast this on targets to Slow them. Mind Warp: This causes a hero to temporarily change sides and attack their own comrades. Gorgon Petrify: This will freeze an enemy in place for a duration. Plague: Damages and occasionally infects a target, making them the temporary carrier of a nasty plague. This lasts for some time, and may inflict heroes around them with a non-infectious version of the plague. Recall: If either Styx or Stones is not in combat, and the other Wight is, then they teleport to the otherò³ ³ide. Reincarnation: When either Styx or Stones dies, they leave a gravestone, like any other creature. However, if the other is still alive when this gravestone times out, then the dead member of the pair will reincarnate on the spot they died, with full hit points. Speed Monster: The Goblin Priest casts this on fellow Goblins to make them move and attack faster. Summon Medusa: This summons Medusae to aid the Gorgon. Summon Rats: Allows the Rat King to summon a host of rats to do his bidding. Terrify: This causes all heroes within the vicinity to potentially flee in terror. New Quests

Further Hero Distinction Part of the success of Majesty is based in the differentiation of the heroes. We are further highlighting the differences between character classes in The Northern Expansion. The main method for doing this is by setting up new relationships between the existing heroes and the new monsters, buildings, and spells. The horror of seeing a Wizard encounter a Vampire in the original game, or the joy of witnessing a Warrior of Discord dispatch multiple Goblins in one strike, is an experience we intend to continue fostering New Tileset The Northern Expansion takes place further north of the Hellfire mountains, which are seen at the top of the Ardania quest map in Majesty. This area is snowy and cold, which is visually depicted using a winter tileset, complete with snow covered trees, ice ponds, and goblin snowmen.
Enhanced Monster Coordination A key element of the Northern Expansion is that the monsters work together even more effectively. Many of them cast spells on each other, band together, and have complimentary forces. To this end, the Ratmen, Goblin and Serpent societies have been extended to include multiple types of units. Two of the new unique monsters, the Wights, are only found in a pair and are always watching out for each other in combat. These coordinated forces provide a much greater challenge to overcome as Sovereign Downloadable Quests The Northern Expansion adds the ability to download quests from the Internet. A minimum of three quests are planned for free distribution.
Build Tree Editor The editor can be used to allow, disallow, or limit by type the number of specific buildings that players have access to in freestyle or multiplayer games. This is a powerful tool that can conform multi-player play to different playersò ³´yles. For example, you could limit each player to only three Wizards Towers, no second level Wizards Guilds, and disallow Elves, Trading Posts and Temples of Agrela. These settings can be saved and then accessed when starting a freestyle game. Shared Vision If you build the Embassy in your kingdom, you gain a shared map view of all of your allies. This continues to foster the cooperative play where multiplayer Majesty excels.
Random Events There are a number of event scripts included with the Northern Expansion. These can be selected when starting a freestyle game. The scripts provide for quest-like events during play, such as being attacked by waves of monsters or getting help from a nearby kingdom.
New Freestyle Patterns There are sixty new freestyle patterns. These include player patterns showcasing the new buildings, such as ones where you only have an Outpost í¹‚í½¡king your hold on the land much more tenuous. The new monster patterns take advantage of all the new opponents in the land |
